(INDIE PROJECT)
The game follows the story of a boy who is born into a family that followed an evil cult. He manages to escape the cult, but is forced to leave his best friend behind. Now, he is a grown adult and the cult is no longer active. But he is still constantly haunted by nightmares of the events he experienced in his childhood, and the guilt of being unable to save his friend. However, after a vision he has during one of his nightmares, he decides to go back to the mansion and confront his fears to find the secrets of the cult and his family.

Process
The process of creating our horror game, "Home Sweet Home," involved collaborative ideation among our team of three members over a span of one to two days. We conceptualized a game centered around time travel, where players must unravel the mysteries of a mansion to find their way out. While our artist focused on asset creation based on the layout, I delved into developing the game mechanics and designing the initial levels using the Unity engine. Simultaneously, our other team member worked on crafting the user interface (UI) for the game.
With a tight timeline of three weeks, we dedicated ourselves to executing our idea. Ultimately, we successfully implemented the core game loop, allowing players to experience the main gameplay elements. However, due to time constraints, we were unable to fully complete the environmental design for all the levels as it required significant arrangement and detailing. Consequently, the game was finished with just the first two levels, featuring a series of puzzles to unlock pathways and convey the storyline to players.
The progress update document which we created during the creation of the game has been given below.
